The filing fees for a new Bankruptcy petition have increased, effective June 1, 2014. The new filing fee for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will increase from $306.00 to $335.00, and the filing fee for Chapter 13 Bankruptcies will increase from $281.00 to $310.00. This is the first time the fees have been raised since November of 2012, when the filing fee for Chapter 7’s increased from $299 to $306, and the Chapter 13’s increased from $274 to $281.
